What EMIADA processes

EMIADA is a communication-practice application. The current beta does not require an account. When you practice, the text of your responses is sent to EMIADA’s service so the AI role-player can respond and produce a debrief. A random session identifier, scenario, response text, AI assessment, and timestamps are stored with the practice session.

To write the role-player’s replies, EMIADA’s service sends the scenario and the practice conversation so far to one AI provider through its API: OpenAI, Anthropic or Google, depending on how the service is configured. A practice stays with the same provider from start to finish. These providers process the conversation under their API terms. Under the paid API terms EMIADA uses, they do not use it to train their models; they may keep it for a limited time under their own policies, for example to detect abuse.

An optional beta profile—including the name, email, role, and practice goal you enter—is stored locally on your iPhone and is not used as a cloud account. If you contact support, we process the contact details and message you submit.

Signing in with email

Signing in is optional. If you choose to sign in on emiada.com, you enter your email address and EMIADA emails you a one-time sign-in link and a 6-digit code, sent through our email provider, Resend. The link and code expire after 15 minutes and work once. EMIADA stores your email address, when your account was created and when you last signed in. While you are signed in, your browser keeps a sign-in cookie for up to 30 days, and practice sessions you start are linked to your account so they stay yours.

Your email is used only to sign you in and to keep your practice linked to your account. It is not used for advertising and is never part of research exports: research pilots stay anonymous and are identified only by participant code. To delete your account and email address, use the EMIADA support form and send it from, or name, the address you signed in with. Signing out in the app removes the sign-in cookie from that browser.

Voice input

The iOS beta uses Apple’s Speech Recognition framework to turn speech into text. EMIADA does not upload raw microphone audio to its own servers in the current iOS beta. The resulting text is handled like a typed practice response. Apple’s processing is governed by Apple’s privacy terms and your device settings.

To read the AI role-player’s lines aloud, EMIADA sends the text of those lines (never your voice or your responses) to OpenAI, which converts them to audio.

Personal situation analysis and rehearsal

When you choose to analyze a real situation, EMIADA asks for your consent before sending the case description, roles, goal, and follow-up conversation through its service to OpenAI. If you choose personal rehearsal, your reviewed scene, rehearsal messages and alternative responses are also processed by OpenAI to generate the conversation, feedback and preparation card. Use role labels instead of names and do not include addresses, contact details, or confidential client information.

This feature keeps the draft, analysis, personal rehearsal, comparisons and preparation card in app memory, not in your profile, communication map, or EMIADA’s practice-session database, unless you choose to send the conversation to the EMIADA team as described below. Closing the screen keeps it available during the current app session. Clearing the case or quitting the app removes that local copy. Responses are sent with caching disabled and OpenAI response storage disabled; this does not override the provider’s applicable retention policies or delete information already processed by the provider.

Exporting a preparation card is optional. The app opens the device’s share controls so you can choose a destination; it does not automatically send the card to anyone. Copies you export are outside this feature’s temporary storage and are not removed when you clear the case. Voice input uses Apple’s speech recognition as described above; recognized rehearsal text is sent to OpenAI only when you choose to send your response.

Research pilots

EMIADA is sometimes used in research pilots run by a coach, trainer, or researcher. Taking part is voluntary. The pilot organizer gives you an anonymous participant code, such as P07, and you enter it in the app only if you agree to take part. EMIADA asks you to confirm that consent before a code is used.

While you practice with a code, the transcripts of your practice sessions, the AI assessments of your responses, and the session times are linked to that code so the organizer can study how communication changes over the pilot. The organizer can export this information for analysis, including versions without codes or dates for independent expert rating.

Conversations linked to your code may also be reviewed by the EMIADA team to improve the scenarios and the AI’s behavior. They are not used for advertising, and no names are stored with them.

EMIADA does not store your name or contact details with a participant code. Only the organizer knows which person holds which code. You can withdraw at any time: ask the organizer, and every practice session linked to your code will be deleted from EMIADA, together with any conversations you sent to the EMIADA team while using that code. Copies the organizer has already exported are handled under the organizer’s own research terms.

Conversations you choose to send

After a personal situation analysis or rehearsal, and on the review of a practice in the browser, you can choose to send that conversation to the EMIADA team. This is optional and nothing is sent unless you confirm by selecting Send. Before you send, EMIADA shows what will be shared: for a personal situation, the case text you entered and the AI’s replies; for a browser practice, that practice’s transcript. You can add a note about what went wrong or what you expected and say whether it was helpful. If you have joined a research pilot, your participant code is attached.

Please remove names and private details first. EMIADA stores what you send with the date, language and type of conversation, but no name, account, contact details or device identifier. The EMIADA team reviews these conversations only to improve how EMIADA handles similar situations; they are not used for advertising. A shared copy is kept even if you later delete the practice it came from. To have a shared conversation deleted, contact us through the EMIADA support form with the date and a short description, or, in a research pilot, ask the organizer.

How information is used

EMIADA does not sell personal information or use practice content for advertising.

Service providers and retention

EMIADA uses infrastructure and AI providers, including Netlify, Supabase, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Apple, to deliver the functions described above. They process information only as needed to provide their services and under their own applicable terms.

Practice sessions remain available so an interrupted practice can resume. You can permanently delete the current practice from its debrief screen. Limited security logs and backups may remain for a reasonable operational period.

Your choices

You may type instead of granting microphone or speech-recognition access. You may delete a practice session in the app. For access, deletion, or other privacy questions, use the EMIADA support form.

Children and changes

EMIADA is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the product develops; the date above will identify the latest version.
